They say our lives are filled with glory
But if they knew, they'd be sorry
The sex, the drugs, the rock-n-roll
They say WE make them feel so low.
Why don't they say,"Hey let's talk awhile?"
You know I'm no longer a child
Listen to what I've been trying to say
Before you go on your way.
Our teenage world isn't what it seems
Your light that was there, never gleems
Why do you hate us? Why do you scold?
Is it a crime just growing old?
They tell us about the good ol' days
Where did we pick up OUR bad ways?
Hey, I'm just a small town girl
Growing up in this teenage world
They say it's not THEIR fault
We should've listened to what THEY taught
They can't understand what's going on
When will they see the light of dawn?

( this was my first poem, I was 15 1/2 years old at the time this was written)
Our Lifetime is like a rainbow
When it ends, there is a pot of gold
In between, the colors so bold.
Our Love...seems like the sun
Sometimes so bright, lying low all night
How can it be right?
The End
We know it's there
Someone will cry, maybe even die or maybe ask why?
We feel the pain, when the sun goes away
We see the rain.
Then the rainbow will shine
and again you will be mine
We will see the colors, one by one and when it is done
We will finally find.......our pot of gold.

We see love as an emotion shared by two people who want nothing but each other.
Who laugh, who cry, who see the same dreams; who shed the same tears. We see love beautiful for love itself:
Candlelit dinners for two, moon-lit walks on a beach, love for being together. What do we see when one is away from the other?
We see an illusion of lonliness. Being alone. The fear of the end. Fading smiles and broken hearts, we realize from our shattered dreams that love fades and darkness rises above us.
Love is an emotion-filled fantasy that you cannot see or touch, an emotions you feel deep within your heart. Special as it may seem, it can leave you cold as a stone. So cold, that you shiver and cower away from others who want to love you for you and not for a selfish fantasy of their own. We turn away from love's games and tell ourselves it is a curse of the heart. We lie to ourselves and believe that love cannot happen. When it does, we turn into our own fears and start again, only to see each others illusions the same:
Cursed hearts spreading an emotion-filled fantasy that will leave you stone cold to cower in darkness.

Someday, I know I will die
I wonder if, a soul would cry
The tears and fears of a life long lived
buried deep with every sin.
Someday, I know my ghost shall arise
and conquer those, who betrayed me with lies
The anger and hurt I've felt so long
Will burn them down, where they belong
Someday.........
I know, the Earth will fade
A lot of people, who have been betrayed
Why is it the good always die?
the bad go on inspite of their lies?

Lost and alone, afraid to let go
Free to sore, but the pain it shows
Hold on I can't, be free to dance
and play and sing with this thing called freedom.
Let go I fear, pain is near
I feel I see, but what do I REALLY need?
Words can't express, what is really best, for me....for me
I cry I hesitate, I know it's too late
For love to bloom again, between strangers of the heart, doomed from the start
Help me, I'm falling......apart!

Days come, days go
Some fast, some slow
You don't look back, you fear the pain
You feel the future, what must you gain......or lose?
You must look in and explore, every door.....you must know
Right from wrong, the words to the songs.......you feel.
The emotions you need, you must grow from that seed.......you were born from.
You learn from your sorrows, they are the keys to your tomorrows.
Reach out and see, is it true or fantasty?
You must realize, it's not in the skies, or in the eyes of a fake disguise, it's you!
Realize.

Go away, lonesome stairway, you've been here before
Don't enlighten no fears, don't open closed doors
Look to the new, present company, a special few.
We are tomorrow, not to beg or borrow
So, go away, lonesome stairway, go away.
Do you fear the pain of a lost soul to gain?
Hate and destruction, a bleeding strain?
Do you see the lives left open?
Do you care for the hearts left broken?
By a special few, who thought they knew their prey
Walking up a lonesome stairway.
They shall beg for and borrow life they past, forgotten tomorrow
Feel the cold, lonley sorrow
Climb astray, a lonesome stairway.
You will see what you don't want to be, reality turned fantasy
By a lonesome few or a lucky few
Climbing a lonesome stairway.
